Free Family Fun at the Nebraska Outdoors Expo

Get a taste of all that outdoor Nebraska has to offer at the third annual Nebraska Outdoors Expo on May 16 at Fort Kearny State Recreation Area.

The event is free to the public and, since it's Nebraska's Free Parks and Free Fishing Day, you won't even need a Nebraska Park Entry permit to join in the fun!

The Expo will feature over 30 hand-on skills and activities, including archery, kayaking, fishing, shotgun and airgun shooting, and several educational exhibits and workshops.  Those attending will also be able to take the Nebraska Outdoor Challenge and compete prizes or get in on the kick off event for the
2009 Nebraska Great Park Pursuit.

Other activities planned for the day include several outdoor clinics and educational sessions and a new attraction - free airboat rides on the Platte River.

Be sure to mark May 16 on your calendar and plan to join in the fun at this day-long outdoor extravaganza.
