Ice Fishing Season Right Around Corner

I have heard of Summit Lake and Werhspann being both great lakes to fish over here on the east side of the state where I live. I wouldn't mind driving a ways to get better fishing. If you have any information please let me know.

This will also be my first ice fishing season ever. I am from Seattle, Washington and looking at gaining as much knowledge about what I will be needing to have along with me with every trip whether it's tackle wise or gear that I will need to pick. And I found a guy on craigslist that wants to sell a 6'' Hand Augger for $20. Will a six inch hole work for the fishing around here? I am not sure at all and like I said I am new but still have plenty of fishing knowledge.
