Sherman Reservoir - Tuesday, May 18, 2010
Looks like the last report I made was May 22, 2007, listed as unknown, but below it was a correction by the undersigned. I quit going to Sherman because of the size limits. Would catch a bunch of eyes but no keepers. I like to bring home some eaters!!!!!!!! whenever I fished for eyes, crappie and white bass at Sherman. Have never brought home a possession limit for the years I fished Sherman.
They dropped the daily limit to 3 eyes and changed the slot (used to be 4 eyes18" or over with 1 over 22") . So. Dakota here I come. Okay, I still fish Nebraska too, but Gavins Point and Lewis and Clark Lake are the same distance as Sherman. Eyes 15" or above are easier to catch up there as are other species of fish.. |

windy all day didnt try May 13th still windy but calmed down later caught 1 walleye 22" fish was in good shape, using small firetiger rapala. Fished all day Friday the 14th nice weather got sunburned. Tried everything couldnt get a hit. didnt see anyone else catching fish. Going again to Sherman on vacation Memorial weekend. Might mention fried was catching a few white bass in cove across from boat ramp at Thunder Bay. Floatin jig head with minnows about 2' off bottom. Wish som more fisher people would report on this site, help each other out on bite and method. Have a nice memorial weekend. If you see a blue boat on Sherman with KITTY KITTY on the side that is me. Stop and trade fish stories. Have a good one. Dale

Tried getting out of cove by marina, wind blowing so hard granddaughter became a bit timid. Turned around and fished the cove. Didnt catch anything but people on boat dock were getting keeper crappies. Maybe the wind will go down enough to get on main lake this Sunday. Enjoy your time fishing.

Sherman Reservoir - Saturday, June 17, 2006
There wasn't much action fishing at Sherman this last week. The walleye bite was slow with 1 18" keeper in the 1st 10 fish caught in a day and a half fishing. Crappie fishing was almost as bad. White bass were slow. The temperature of the water was 74 to 76 degrees. Air temp's were in the 90's. Winds were up to 35 mpg and boat control was tough. We used the big engine most of the time for trolling at 2.5 to 3 mph. Tried drifting with the drift sock. Friday we fished in the rain until 1 pm. We caught our fish on a varity of tackle - gold spinner and minnow, chartruse hook and bead with minnow or crawler, white jig and minnow, wally diver, with nothing really better than the other. The fish weren't where they were 3 weeks ago.

Sherman Reservoir - Monday, May 22, 2006
Caught lots of eyes and crappie thursday evening, friday, saturday, and sunday morning on the muddy flats and the cove north of sherman homes. Slow trolling white gig twister tail and a minnow in 1/16th and 1/4 ounce produced both eyes and crappie in 4 to 7 fow. Also boated walleye using Walley Minnow and Walley diver cranks on the flats in 5-6 fow with fish at times hitting on both poles. Fished along the dam and picked up a keeper eye 9:15pm thursday.
A fun fishing trip. |
