Fished Summit Friday 2-26-10. Went mainly to check access to the west road. Found 1 lane traffic to the main boat ramp with small drifts from last snow. A orange fence was across the road in 2 to 3 ft of snow from there to where I wanted to fish to the east.. Snow on the ice all over the lake at least 3" stopped me from unloading my flip-over so I loaded my "stuff" on 2 sleds pulling them in tandem.
Two guys came in from the spot Gregg and I fished last year and hadn't iced a fish from 6am till 11am. They had marked a few but the fish had lock jaw was their report.. I fished until 5pm. The Friday nite shacks started arriving at 4:30 pm. I never brought my equiptment for night time fishing so I picked up and headed in at 5:30pm. Would like to head up there again with a buddy and try for crappie, bluegills and walleye for some night time fishing. |

Only caught one Bluegill, but the ice is still good with about 4" of frozen slush on top of 12 to 15" of good ice.

Caught about 15 good sized gills. Seemed to be really hot mid-morning and shut off the rest of the day. Used genz worm with waxie. Nothing biting on the tip ups w/minners. Good ice, loud ice.

i can see alot of people on this fishing report do not know how to fish at summit lake. this year a friend of mine an me caught 200 catfish in two weeks with friends . on the north side by a sign. we fish shallow about 5 feet from bank. we use sonnys stink bait cow blood an turkey liver the liver has to sit in the sun about a hour an soaked in vanialla extract. no weight number 02 treble hooks leave bail open so the cvatfisdh can run then set the hook. i use 30 pound steath or fireline its the best. also if you need bait please stop in at carla an steves the sportsman corner just before cubbys it is cheapier an quicker there they have minnows an every thing. ice fishin was good on the lake in 2007 an 2008 29 inches of ice on it

Fished Summit lat night with my wife. I got a small bass and very small sunny. She was skunked. Summit seems to be pretty slow this year.

I fished Summit Friday and again Sunday late in the day from 3 pm until 9 pm. Found the bite for LMB to start about 4:45 and crappie to start 7:30 pm. 14 1/2" LMB and 12 1/2" crappie was the best I could do! Seen a few limits of BG taken by others om the way to my spot.

Spent last two week fishing for bass. Had some luck 5 or 6 in a couple of hours. Some bluegill. Fairly slow.

Spent most of the spring and summer fishing Summit from the shore and boat. Caught lots of bluegill, and bass. Great little lake.
