You hit the nail on the head.  Check out the topic "Where is everyone?".  Some guy's check the site as you can tell by the # of hits on some topics, but it seems they don't want to contribute to the site.  I check all the sites but only contribute to this site.  I used to give my opinion on FBO and didn't like the treatment I received from a few trouble makers on that site back in the day.  We used to have a NEB Staff member who tried to keep this site rolling.  I don't think we have a STAFF member now.  For fishing and hunting information I believe most guys go to NEFGA.

Area Wallleye lakes are few and far between.  You have tried Desoto Bend.  For Ne. lakes try Summit (40 miles), Wehrspann, (Omaha) Branched Oak, Pawnee (Lincoln area), all within 75 miles of Omaha  My favorite lakes for walleye are Lewis and Clark and Gavins Point dam tailwaters, and Sherman Reservoir, both 165 miles from Omaha.  Southwest Iowa, Manawa just across the river,  Icaria (Corning) 100 miles,  12 mile lake and 3 mile lake (150 + miles) east of Corning Ia.

Hope this helps. ~ Orv

You should give summit a try.  Walleye are in there but you have to find them.  They along with nice crappie and bluegill, LMB,and catfish are the main species in the lake.  It is a good icefishing lake for big gills.

From the litte reports I have heard, Summit Lake is very hard to fish until it freezes over, then the bite will really pick up for Crappie and Walleye. Then there is Wehrspann. I have only been out here for 2 months in Nebraska and have heard that Walleye in Wehrspann are pretty dang hard to catch, but a lot of the guys say they are catching them near the rock wall on that side of the lake. I am sorry I don't have information on bait they are using but if I hear anything more I will let you know.

Good luck out there!
